Tampa, FL—June 17, 2020 – OmniFund has expanded the features of its Passport product with extended APIs that enable more functionality and control for merchants when requesting contactless payments at the point of sale for goods and services rendered.
The extended APIs allow software developers to seamlessly integrate with many point of sale (POS) and back-office management software systems. With the functionality and flexible options of Passport payments, merchants can offer their customers more payment possibilities, regardless of where the transaction takes place.
Passport requests can be sent via email or SMS text message through the merchant point of sale platform. Incorporating this text and email billing functionality using Passport APIs, provides a streamlined way to pay from any location—at the store, from the table, or outside the business walls. All payments made through Passport are settled easily and securely within the POS system.
“OmniFund has provided merchants with the power to request a payment from the other side of the counter, the other side of the building, or the other side of the world,” says Stacy Roderick, CEO of OmniFund.
The expanded Passport product provides an advantage for service-based businesses such as restaurants, dog groomers, hair and nail salons, mechanics, and other merchants that provide a service before payment is rendered. With Passport, the merchant can send a text message from their system notifying customers that their services are complete. Within the same text, the merchant is able to request payment for the exact amount due, and rather than wait to return to the merchant’ ’s storefront to pay, the customer can accept the request and securely submit their payment using the link within the same text notification.
Finally, the merchant ’s point of sale system can pick up the transaction and process it in real-time, with no delay. For restaurants and other tipped businesses, the expanded APIs also include tip line and check-splitting functionality.
The entire process can be viewed easily from start to finish, providing the merchant with more control over their transactions. Merchants can easily view the request sent, when it is opened, and when it is paid, regardless of the customer ’s location. Requests and invoices can even be sent while merchants are on the phone with a client. The added functionality of Passport APIs makes contactless payments a streamlined, efficient process that benefits both the merchant and customer. Backed by OmniFund’s U.S.-based support team, integrations are simple and provide value to the point of sale.
